Hawaii Five-0

The holidays are over, and it’s time to look forward to several more frigid months of winter and paying off all those Christmas presents you couldn't afford.  Luckily, most television shows are gearing up for the second half of their 2012-2013 seasons.  My New Year’s resolution is to gather as many juicy spoilers as I could and share them with y’all.  It’s a lot easier than vowing to work off a month’s worth of double desserts.  First up, CBS’s procedural set in paradise, “Hawaii Five-0.”

Back to the Future.  A future episode will serve as a prequel to “Hawaii Five-0’s” intense and fantastic pilot, reports.  It will focus on Steve’s training as a Navy SEAL and may even bring back at least one of the Hesse brothers aka the sinister siblings who were involved in the murder of McGarrett’s father.  Executive Producter Peter Lenkov even dishes that McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) "had actually gone into North Korea with another Navy SEAL, a man who saved his life and was killed there."  The only thing McGarrett needs less than another gunshot wound is more angst.
The “Hawaii Five-0” pilot is still the standard in which I measure all episodes against, so this episode must be epic.

Season 4?  Season 3 has put “Hawaii Five-0” back into the golden-gilded guilty pleasure status it fell from with its confounding sophomore run.  Granted, it’s very early in the year to for a definitive answer about the future life-span of my shows, but considering that almost all of my fav new shows were axed (Adieu, “Partners,” “The Mob Doctor,” and the ambitious “Last Resort!”), I can’t help to worry.  According to, a H50 renewal is considered a “safe bet.”  Mahalo, CBS

Hawaii gets the “GTL” treatment.  If you’re anything like me, you’ve definitely wondered about Danny’s family and exactly how he became such a cynical little rageball.  In an upcoming episode, viewers will finally meet another Williams in the form of his “Jersey Shore”-esque nephew, E-Train, Zap2It reports.  If he’s anything like characters from the MTV reality show, Danny’s bound to hulk out like Ronnie on the boardwalk.

Chin’s grief is finally explored.  One of the major plotholes of season 3 (no, not the inexplicable decision to make McGarrett’s mother, played by Emmy winner Christine Lahti, a spy) will finally be…um, filled in.  Chin’s grief over the death of his wife has been left unexplored until now.  Daniel Dae Kim’s Lieutenant Kelly has kept a low profile this season.  He’s stared off into the distance, cut his hair and shirked off his friends’ concern. reports that Chin has been burying his anger and grief, and viewers will finally see exactly how he’s channeling that anger.  It is compulsive gambling?  Binge-drinking?  Crocheting?  Your guess is as good as mine.

Choose your own ending!  Most might not remember the choose-your-own-adventure books that were all the rage when I was a kid, but the "Hawaii Five-0" powers that be must have been a huge fan as he is applying that philosophy to the bikinis-and-bombs crime drama for a television first, according to  In an episode airing Jan. 14, after revealing the motives for three suspects to kill an Oahu State professor, viewers will be able to choose the ending of the episode with real-time voting via Twitter and
"I've always felt the most fun aspect of watching a mystery is trying to figure out whodunit," executive producer Peter Lenkov said.  "Now the Hawaii Five-0 viewers will actually get the chance to tell us who they think committed the crime and we will listen. I love that our dedicated and attentive fans will actually play a part in resolving our story."
Is there an option to make hotties Alex O’loughlin, Daniel Dae Kim and Scott Caan take their shirts off?
